What a great weekend! I had a blast gathering with other photogs and shooting around Atlanta’s Piedmont Park this past Saturday. I met such wonderful people and look forward to continued friendships.
Quick back story – the Worldwide Photo Walk is a pretty phenomenal event. This year, there were over 33,000 registered walkers and over 1,100 cities around the world participating in this annual gathering. This was my second walk – last year, I joined Atlanta’s Centennial Park walk. I believe the 2009 Photo Walk garnered over 25,000 participants around the world.
The day was a good reminder, too, for me to shoot EVERY DAY. Even if it’s just a quick walk around the neighborhood to find and capture something new… have to keep those creative juices flowing!
Additionally, I just want to say that it was an opportunity to be around other photographers that were there to have a good time, build relationships, and not take themselves too seriously. You have to take that time [as a creative] to be creative and not-serious in order to better yourself as an artist. As a person. When you go into a situation with an open mind, you’re bound to get something out of it. ‘Til next time!
Believe — Then just do it!
